Burton James Branch

Funeral service will be at 5 p.m., Thursday, September 8 at Cherry Point Baptist Church. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 9 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, September 8 at Cherry Point Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Rosa Branch of 70 years, sister Carla Knowles, daughter Deborah Branch Hines, son Larry Branch, granddaughter Bridgette Hines Uvalle and husband Marcos Uvalle, grandson Larry Dean Branch, Jr., grandson Travis Branch, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Burton J. Branch, III.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during World War II on the U.S.S. Flint and U.S.S. Amsterdam. He was also a past Master Mason in Lodge 688 of Havelock, Shriner, successful businessman in owning Mama Rosa’s restaurant and Burton’s Restaurant and Lounge, and a retired member of the Craven County ABC store. He loved life, his family and his friends.
