Carey , you will be sorely missed in my mind & heart. Though I lived in Aurora for only 7-8 years , you were the closest friend I had. I will always remember your caring heart, friendly smile when we visited, and even the funny sarcasm you and your dear mother shared with me. We laughed so hard at times , yet knew we were sharing moments that would forever be remembered. Your loss is ours too.I wish to say I will always remember our connection with memories of fishing, Florida, even conoe trips along the Little Miami River in my hometown of Cincinnati Ohio, which by the way seemed unfathomable that we had stepped in similar steps in our lives being way out east in Aurora NC.Let me add that your invitations , knowing my mother and father were passed and family was one sister out of state, that your invitations to your family gatherings made me feel apart of the family you shared and I was welcomed as 1 of them, at least that is the feeling I felt. That alone sets a tone of true family and a caring friend that made friends of family feel like family. We talked for hours on end on any subject, shared the building of your new home after Hurricane Irene and I moved back to Jacksonville NC to be closer to my little boy Richard. My time shared with you was special and very enjoyable, the smiles we shared and laughs are etched in my mind where they will be until we meet again.A simple man with the same outlook and attitude was just the way you were and I'll remember the caring offerings and friendship we had and the Nascar races we watched together. My heart is broken to have lost such a caring friend, like a brother in closeness we could talk about anything. I will miss everything about you my dear friend but know one day we shall meet again. You will always be in loving memory, my friend Carey - Terry Gaylor, 420 Johnson Blvd. Jacksonville,NC. 28540
