Obituary of Carl David Cluck

Carl David Cluck, 77, of James City, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Carl was born on November 1, 1943 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Aaron David and Ruth Marie Cluck.

Carl was a United States Marine for 30 years. He held many jobs throughout his military career but his most memorable was when he served under Presidents Bush Sr. and Clinton at HMX-1 and watched over the military details that protected our Presidents. He retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.

After his military service he worked as a manager at Bojangles until he completely retired and started to enjoy life from all the years of hard work.

One of the things that our father enjoyed the most was fishing, He was also a very avid coin collector. He was a very humble man who also enjoyed time watching his kids grow up and have grand children and great grand children.

Our father was a very good man who gave us all the Love, support and advice that helped us everyday in life and is helping us as we learn to move through our lives with out him.

His is survived by his three children with his ex-wife Kathleen Cluck, David Michael Cluck of Florida, Dawn Marie Peay and her Husband Jeffrey Peay of Hubert North Carolina and Daniel Matthew Cluck of James City North Carolina. He has four grand daughters, Kassandra Culjak and her husband Andrew Culjak, Kayla Nicole Smith and her husband John Smith and Jordyn Peay of Fayetteville North Carolina and Natalie Cluck of James City, North Carolina. In addition to this his great great grand daughters Madelyn & Emma Culjak and Veda Smith. Carl also has two beloved sisters Shirley Donkersloot and Barbara Miskits of New Jersey. He is also survived by his Love of many years Angela Edwards.

Our family would like to thank the many doctors and Nurses in the ICU at Carolina East Health System in New Bern, North Carolina for their caring and dedicated service to our father. In addition we would also like to say Thank-You to Iron Forged Fitness Gym in Jacksonville, North Carolina for their outpouring of Love & Support with food, calls, emails and text. Finally to our family and friends who have also reached out we are very appreciative of you all during this difficult time and we want to extend Our deepest Gratitude to you all.

The memorial service will be held at Cotten Funeral home in New Bern North Carolina.
