Carlton Hugh Barrow Jr.

Carlton Hugh Barrow Jr., 78, of Cove City, passed away on October 30, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1947, to the late Carlton Hugh and Dorothy Poole Barrow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Barrow Turbeville.

Hugh is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Barbara Lee Barrow; his nephew, Little Ray Turbeville; and his niece, Beth Turbeville Nelson.

Hugh loved his work and took great pride in his career in heating and air conditioning. No matter how hot or cold the weather became, if a customer needed service, he gladly answered the call. He was known for his kindness and dedication, especially to his elderly clients—often venturing out in the middle of the night, even in snow, to ensure their comfort. Perhaps it was the homemade cakes and cookies they baked for him, but more likely it was his generous heart that made him never say no to someone in need.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Cotten Funeral Home, with a reception to follow. Burial will take place at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Carlton Hugh Barrow Jr., fondly known as “Hugh,” will be deeply missed by all who knew him as we await the return of Jesus Christ, when we will be reunited once again.
