Carole Anne (Holmes) Stringer

Carole Anne Holmes Stringer, 84, Trent Woods, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, March 6,2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished Nana and caring sister and aunt.

Carole was born on September 13, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Thomas Holmes and Evelyn Bedell Holmes.

Passionate to learn her family history it was not unusual to find Carole with Ipad in hand, a cat on her lap (always!) and a quick swiping finger as she researched and successfully located new family members.

Thankful for her life and continuing in her memory are her children Darlene O’Sullivan, Denise Hackwell, Daryl Stringer (Lisa), Danielle Torney (Brian) and daughter in law Kimberly Stringer. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, sister Diane Hennessey (William), brother Thomas Holmes as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband William D. Stringer, son Douglas Stringer and brother Brian Holmes.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, North Carolina 28560 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel.
