Carol, as she was known to family and friends, was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon O. Schnoebelen in 1984.
Eldon and Carol were both retired veterans from the US Navy. They met while working in the medical field of the military, he as a physician and she as a nurse.
Carol is survived by two sisters, Margaret “Peg” Mitchell of New Bern and Edith Gnaso of California and her “like a sister” caregiver, Terry Bennett, also of New Bern.
No services will be held locally. Carol will be buried at a later date, beside her husband, at Dearborn Memorial Park in California, with full military honors.
