

She is survived by her loving husband of more than 49 years, Aubey Haddock, and her beloved four-legged companion, Toby. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sena Simpson Rivenbark, and two infant sisters.
Carolyn spent her childhood growing up in the Croatan Community of New Bern. She graduated from New Bern High School in 1963 and Harbarger Business School in Raleigh in 1965. She went on to have a long and dedicated career, working for 47 years with John Watts Accounting.
Carolyn was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime member of Vida Grantham Chapter and Craven Chapter, where she served as secretary for many years. She cherished the friendships she made through her involvement and was always eager to share good times with others.
Carolyn had a great love for travel and enjoyed exploring new places with the many friends who accompanied her on her adventures. She also had a special love for animals, especially the dogs who were cherished members of her family throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, in the Chapel of Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. Entombment will be held privately at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
Carolyn will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her love of travel, her dedication to her work and community, and the special place she held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
