Cathy Jo Thomas Wiggins Smith, 68,of New Bern passed away on Monday March 23, 2020 at her home. She was born in Comfort, NC to the late Charles Elbert Thomas & Mary Ruth Sparrow. Cathy was known as a great woman and Mom. Throughout her life she worked at Frigidaire and was a homemaker. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband; Joe Smith, Three sons; Tim Wiggins and his girlfriend Amy of the home, Gene Wiggins and his wife Tracy of Kennansville, NC, Jim Wiggins and his girlfriend Hailey of Goldsboro, NC, One daughter; Christy Jarman and her boyfriend KJ of Kinston, NC along with several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also, a sister; Jean Vincent and her husband Tim, a brother; Chuck Thomas and his wife Janet. Cathy was loved dearly by all who knew her and she will be missed by many. Cathy’s final resting place will be at Thomas Philyaw Cemetery in Comfort, NC. Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family in their time of need.

I was so sorry to hear of Cathy”s passing. She was so kind to me when I was a new mother. We spent many days enjoying her home cooking and southern hospitality. She will be missed.

She was a wonderful woman she welcomed any one in like family. She will be missed by many. Times when it was birthday and she baked me a cake really going miss her alot. The moments i had with her im going cherish for a long time i love you and were all going miss you tons ill never forget the times we had togther you were a strong woman. We love you.

She was one in a million ...she was the best mom anyone could ask for. I loved her dearly .... And she loved me I'll never forget her she was my heart . She always cared . I could talk to her about anything ... mom , I love and miss you dearly ..
