

84, New Bern NC, died peacefully with family on December 1, 2015. She was born December 21, 1930 in Baltimore Maryland. Her parents were Celia Moulton Lively and William Lively. She grew up in New Bern and graduated from New Bern High School and later from UNC Chapel Hill (Phi Beta Kappa). She married her high school sweetheart Joseph Daniel Eudy on April 2, 1955 and was happily married for 60 years.
She was a wife and a homemaker and raised three sons. Celia was the greatest mother anyone could ever have. Music was one of her great joys and she was a member of the choir at Christ Episcopal in New Bern as well as St. Mary’s Episcopal in Kinston. Celia maintained a lifelong passion in religion and philosophy and was an inspiration to many. She was the rock of the family, with her strength, wisdom, grace, and her love which came from her profound faith in God.
Celia is survived by her husband Joe Eudy of New Bern; her sons Dan Eudy (Laurie) of Morehead City, Steve Eudy (Diana) of Asheville, and David Eudy (Suzanne) of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren; Joseph Eudy III of Morehead City, Morgan Eudy of Asheville, Devereux Eudy of Asheville, and Will Eudy of Hickory; first cousin; Mary Barden of New Bern; and her precious little dog Scooter.
Celia was preceded in death by her mother Celia Lively, and her father, William Lively.
A visitation will be held at Cotton Funeral Home at 2201 Neuse Bld., New Bern on Friday December 4th at 5:00 to 7:00. A funeral service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 320 Pollock St., New Bern Saturday December 5th at 11:00. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service. Burial will follow the reception at Cedar Grove Cemetery at 1:00pm.
