He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the NRA and the VFW Post. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Chom Sun Smith, one son, Charles Smith, Jr., two daughters, Miran Nieves and Hyekyong Pak, three brothers, George, Eddie and Raymond Smith and one grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Cotton Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Cove City.
