She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Sanders, a brother, William J. Watson, her sister, Janie Anderson and a grandson, Robert Sanders.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Paul Sanders, Jr. of New Bern; one daughter, Penny Gentry of Jacksonville; two sisters, Fannie Morton of Morehead City and Virginia Pollard of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Virginia Hammond, Gregory and Alexander Gentry, Rebecca Mullins, Crystal French; and six great-grandchildren, Ava and Sophia Gagliardi, Hannah Hammond, Christian Gentry, Ann Mullins, Darla French.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery Extension. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 at the funeral home.
