Darcus Keeter Wicker

Darcus Keeter Wicker, 75, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home Sunday, February 23, 2025. A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, she was born November 15, 1949, to the late Robert and Rita Keeter.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She loved being with family, beautiful flowers, and gardening. She spent a lifetime teaching her children to appreciate art, music and literature. She loved to travel and relax on the front porch.

Darcus was a fearless and accomplished professional with successful careers in retail, operated her own interior design business and real estate helping low-income families find affordable homes. Upon retirement she enjoyed time with the love of her life Nick.

Leaving behind to honor and cherish her memories are her husband of 56 years, Nick Wicker; sons, CAPT Nick Wicker Jr. (Marie) and Daniel Wicker (Sarah); grandchildren, Mia, Mackenzie, Georgia, and Cole; great grandchild Cooper: brother, Gregory Keeter; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members and close friends.

Darcus is preceded in death by her brother, Robert "Sonny" Keeter Jr. and sister, Gail Keeter.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Cotten Funeral Home.
