David Godwin Fitzgerald

David was born and raised in New Bern, North Carolina where he also attended school. He was a hard worker who took pride in any work that he did. He was a helper and loved to learn new things. At the time of his passing, David worked for A&J Canvas in Vanceboro, North Carolina for 11 years. He and his wife had been married for 9 years. His children could always count on him to be silly and play. Family was important to David and he is loved by many.

David is survived by his wife, Cassandra Fitzgerald; children, Nathaniel Fitzgerald, Jayden Fitzgerald, Emery Fitzgerald, and Casper Fitzgerald; father, Dennis Fitzgerald (Shari); mother, Marylee McRoy (Hildren); sisters, Amanda Fitzgerald and Sara Fitzgerald (Jake Haga); stepsisters, Heather Mills (David), Kimberly McRoy, and Miranda Hawkins (Edwin); and stepbrothers, Aaron McRoy (Sarah) and Asa Oliver (Emily).

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1207 Forest Drive, New Bern. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
