He began life’s journey in a humble but loving environment in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating high school, he took one of the largest and most meaningful steps of his life when he enlisted in the United States Navy. Dave loved the Navy and served with pride and honor, earning a commission and reaching the rank of Lt. Commander before retiring in 1991. After retirement, Dave returned to Louisville for graduate school, earning a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Louisville. Armed with a resume of extensive work experience and an advanced education, Dave continued his Naval career in the field of Electrical Engineering as a civil servant at the Fleet Readiness Center on board Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Dave served in this capacity for nearly 10 years before retiring for the 2nd time.
Dave loved serving his country, he loved his late dog Hudson, but most of all he loved and
adored Delia, his soul mate and wife of 27 years. Dave departed this Earth on December 12th.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11 AM at the Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
He will be missed by his many friends and neighbors. May he rest in eternal peace.
