Rev. Dean Michael Carzoo

Dean was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio on July 17, 1934 – to Raymond and Hazel Dean Carzoo. After high school, he entered Duke University where he received a BA in arts and sciences in 1956. While at Duke, he met Mary Ann Pardue who was raised in Durham. They were married in December of 1956. That same year, Dean entered Pittsburg Xenia Seminary (now Pittsburgh Seminary) and graduated in 1959. Dean was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church in August, 1959.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Carzoo, his two sons – Mike and Andy, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, New Bern, NC on August 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM. He will be inurned at the church columbarium. Donations, if desired, may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1069, New Bern, NC 28563-1069.
