Deborah Yvonne Jackson

December 31, 1956March 14, 2020

Deborah Yvonne Jackson, 63 of New Bern passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in December, 1956 in Charleston West Virginia to Imogene Johnson. She married her long-time friend and love, Leslie Jackson, in August of 1972.

Deborah was a dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Momma” to her grandchildren. She served as a beacon of love and joy for everyone that she encountered.

Her life was a great example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.

Deborah is survived by her husband Leslie Jackson; three children, Chastity Lynn-na Ayodele, Leslie Alphonso Jackson, Mairea Patrice Williams; and her six grandchildren, Zion David Jackson, Ian Devon Jackson, Michael Alonzo Williams, Ava Lynn Jackson, David Ayomide Ayodele, King Vincent Sawyer, Messiah Malik Sawyer. Her love has an astound effect on the future of the Jackson family.

My auntie is now with her Lord. No more pain. I will definitely miss you so much. I have so many GREAT MEMORIES ❤️. My auntie loved chocolate 🍫 she would visit us and always say where’s the chocolate 🍫. And when my grandmother and mom and them would be partying she always would drink her beer piss hot. That was in her hey days. Me and my oldest sister would always visit them when we were younger. I know one thing she would braid the shit out of our hair. She always made us feel welcomed her and my Uncle Waco. And he Uncle Waco can make some bomb pancakes. Better than IHOP!!!! I will definitely miss you auntie I love you soooo much my BEAUTIFUL AUNTIE!!!! Please watch over your children and grandchildren and especially your husband and a little more for your baby girl I’m just more worried about her especially. Sorry Mariea Jackson but not sorry it’s how I feel baby girl. And continue to watch over the rest of us. This will never be goodbye. This is safe journey to be with our LORD and loved ones there. Until we meet again MY LOVE❤️❤️♥️♥️

She has always been one of my favorites. She gave me my name Missy. I'm glad I got the opportunity to visit you this past summer. She was in good spirits didn't even realize she was battling cancer. I love you auntie. You will truly be missed.
