Deloris McDonald Mayer, 74, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
After raising her four children, Deloris returned to school to obtain a nursing degree. In 2003 she retired from the Indian River Sherriff’s Department in Vero Beach, Florida where she was a nurse in the prison. She retired to New Bern in 2008.
Deloris is survived by her four sons, Jerry Price of Indianapolis, IN, Chuck Price of NewBern, NC, Johnny Price of Clayton, IN and David Price of Fife, WA; two sisters, Judy Boyland of Lebenon, IN and Penny Thomerson of Thorntown, IN; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Cotten Funeral with Reverend Eddy Gabbert officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
