Dolores Jane (Mills) Bechtel

Dolores Jane (Mills) Bechtel passed away on February 22, 2024 in Huntersville, North Carolina surrounded by family. Dolores was born on September 8, 1935 in Easton, Pa to the late Conrad F. Mills and Flora D. (Hall) Mills.

Dolores graduated from Easton Area High School in 1954. Dolores was married to Thomas F. Bechtel for fifty-five years. Dolores was an active member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in New Bern, NC. Throughout her life Dolores was active in church, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Girl Scouts as a leader, volunteered in schools with the PTA and tutoring young people. Dolores loved to read, listen to music, watch college football, do needlework, and puzzles. Dolores greatest joy was her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah A. Blackwell (James) of Huntersville, NC, Lisa A. Oehler of Huntersville, NC, and Janice M. Bechtel (Regina) of Lancaster, PA; sister Gloria Roth (Roy) of Easton, PA, sister-in-law Joanne Behers of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Austin Blackwell, Avery Blackwell, Kylie Blackwell, Kelsey Blackwell, Miles Oehler, and Ashley Begley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas F. Bechtel;

and brother Conrad F. Mills, Jr.
