Donald "Donnie" Ray Tilghman, Jr.

Donnie retired from Cherry Point after over 40 years of dedicated service. During his career, Donnie worked in various positions including two trips to Antarctica for the National Science Foundation. He also traveled throughout the United States and overseas. Donnie enjoyed his work and the many friendships he made. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing softball and coaching T-ball.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 39 years Wanda Tilghman, son Brian Tilghman and wife Amanda of Dallas, TX, two grandchildren Hadleigh and Jackson Tilghman of Dallas, TX, fur friends Maggie and Molly, brother in law David Works and wife Amy, brother in law Clifford Rudd and his wife Donna, sister in law Celia Works, nephew Jacob Works and niece Christina Rudd.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at CarolinaEast Medical Center and also the entire staff of ECU Health.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home with light refreshments.
