Donna Jean Mayo Cryer, 77, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away on December 17, 2025. Born on May 9, 1948, in Winston-Salem, she was the daughter of the late Mable Mayo (née Hester) and Jack William Mayo.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Whitley of Greenville, North Carolina, and Laura’s husband, Grant Whitley; four grandchildren, Ashley Walls, Emma Pagano, Benjamin Whitley, and Samuel Whitley; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Ted Mayo and Wayne Mayo.
Donna had a lifelong love for animals, especially dogs, and found great joy in their companionship. She will be remembered fondly by those who knew her for her gentle spirit and devotion to her family.
Donna Jean Mayo Cryer will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
