Doris Marie Liefer

Doris was a DMV representative with the IL secretary of State. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ruma, IL. She enjoyed the beach, sewing, quilting, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Liefer whom she married on June 3, 1967, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, IL; parents Edwin and Emma, nee Heise, Roth; Daughter, Christine; Son, Raymond; and sister Loretta Bievenue.

Surviving are her children: Robert “Ted” Liefer, Brian (Rebekah) Liefer, Katherine (Jamie) Valleroy, Donna (Nehesi) Liefer-Balogun, Matthew (Taylor Hollis) Liefer, Anita (Jim) Farmer, Jeffery (Connie) Liefer.

Grandchildren: Amanda, Cassie (Jace), Kayla (Alex), Erika (Chris), Cierra(Adam), Camden, Brian, Christine, Skylar (Devon), Tanner, Jahi, Kesi, Jakeal, Dominick, Ashton, Liam, Emily, Elizabeth, Jimmy, Jenny, Lacee, and Zac. Great-grandchildren: Jessica, Kathren, Lee, Ava, Damon, Wesley, Raylyn, and soon to arrive Addylyn. She was a mother and friend to many “adopted” children (Stanley and Joe Kuehner). Dear aunt, cousin, and friend. Sister: Jeanette Moore. Brother: Robert Roth.

Memorials may be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School, Evansville, IL.

Celebration of Life for Family and Friends will be held at 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday November 18, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ruma, IL. Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday November 18, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ruma, IL with Rev Randy Fischer officiating.
