Dorothy Benton Davis

Dorothy Davis of Oriental, NC, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at CarolinaEast Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Curtis Benton and Lula Potter Benton of Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Kenneth Davis and her stepson, Harold K. Davis. She was a member of Oriental United Methodist Church and was a 25 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her sons, Linwood Stowe (Betty) of New Bern; Dallas Brian Stowe and his fiance’ Nancy of Halls, TN; stepdaughter, Sharon Brooks (James) of Mt. Holly; stepson, Jed Davis of Florida; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Oriental First Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
