Dorothy H. Jensen

Dorothy Jensen, age 95, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. She was born October 31, 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Reginald Herbert Hipwell and Jessie Reid Hipwell. She lived in Martinsville and Branchburg, NJ before moving to New Bern in 2010. Dorothy was the wife of the late Allan E. Jensen and mother of the late Mark E. Jensen. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Keith Gewain of New Bern, daughter-in-law Diane Jensen of PA, five cherished grandchildren, Kristin, BreeAnn, Christopher, Andrew, and Kelly, and ten great grandchildren, Abigail, Zachary, Faith, Ashton, Aiden, Emma, Lola, Markus, Willa, and Harriet. She was a member of the Bridgewater Women's and Garden Clubs for many years.

After moving to New Bern, Dorothy resided at the Tradewinds condo community until destruction from Hurricane Florence arrived in September, 2018. In February, 2019, she moved to McCarthy Court Independent Living where she remained active in donating her time to the women's auxiliary and designing flower arrangements for McCarthy Court. Family was everything to her, and she was so incredibly proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Cremation was private.

Mom you were a great inspiration to others. You shared your life so willingly with others. The joy you brought us will never end and one day we'll be together again.
