Dorothy Jameson Sanders

On Friday, May 13, 2016, Dorothy Jameson Sanders, affectionately known as “Dee,” passed away at the age of 57 years. Dee was a devoted and passionate educator who loved children! She began serving at Trent Park Elementary School 20 years ago, starting her career as a teacher’s aide and bus driver. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University in 2007, she continued making a difference in the lives of children by teaching first grade. Dee was gifted at cross-stitching and enjoyed playing BINGO with her Mom but most of all, she loved spending time spoiling her grandbabies.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel.

Dee is survived by her girls, Amy Sanders (Jason) and Cristen Powell (Josh); her grandbabies, Madison, Morgan, Reagan, and one more on the way. She is also survived by her mother, Mamie King Fowler; her brother, Jeff Fowler (Melissa); and her sisters, Cheryl Kelly, Tammie Brown, and Brenda Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
