

She was born on November 29, 1927 in Martin County to the late John Wesley and Annie Corey Campbell. Edith graduated from Trenton High School in 1948 and later married Roger Darlington Parker. She was a strong woman of faith and truly believed “that a man should earn his living by the sweat of his brow.” She proved this by farming tobacco, gardening and preserving the summer’s bounty of fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her storytelling abilities and pearls of wisdom. Edith is preceded in death by her husband Roger Parker, and a sister, Mary West.
She is survived by a son, Roger, Jr., and wife Debbie, a daughter, Rebecca Miller and husband Randy, two grandchildren, Roger Parker, III, and Katherine Miller.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 12:00 noon on Wednedsay May 21, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Pollocksville Cemetery with Rev. Doug Batchelor officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Cotten Funeral Home and Crematory.
