Edward Earl Earl Cousins

Edward “Earl” Cousins, 79, of New Bern, passed away peacefully at home October 26, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alma Cousins, his siblings, Peggy Forest, Albert Ray Cousins and Shirley Marie Collins.

Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol “Kay” Stanley Cousins, his daughters, Jennifer Cousins Wright and Lisa Cousins Nelson, granddaughters, Brooke Nelson Dombrowski (Lance) KaLeigh Register, Abbi Morgan, and two great-grandsons, Landen and Wyatt Dombrowski, all of New Bern. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Earl served his country in the U.S. Army, he was a volunteer Fire Fighter in the West New Bern Fire Department for over 40 years and he retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation as a Maintenance Supervisor, and for the past 11 years he worked for Donald Beaman. He was a member of Sherwood Forest FWB Church and Berne Lodge No. 724.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Our family would like to thank all who have visited, prayed and stayed with us during Earl’s time of sickness. Special thanks to West New Bern Fire Department, the volunteers and their family, Sherwood Forest FWB extended family and our hospice family. We could not have done this alone.
