Elizabeth Ellen Bousman

Elizabeth "Ellen" Bousman, 79, went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia and cancer. She was born on January 27, 1946, to the late David Lee Purifoy, Sr. and Elsie Purifoy.

She is survived by her sons Jeff Lee (Patricia), Tim Lee (Kathy), and William Bousman (Alicia); six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings Emily Polanik, Jimmy Purifoy, and Lisa (Jim) Hines; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by two spouses, Dalton Lee and William "Bill" Bousman, Jr.; and brother David Lee Purifoy, Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday, February 23, 2026 at 7 p.m. at New Bern Church of God, 1230 Colony Drive, New Bern, NC.
