He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Moore Grant; sons, Ernest “Ernie” Grant II and wife, Valerie, and Edward “Eddie” Neal Grant and wife, Edna, both of New Bern; brother, William Thomas Grant and wife, Janice, of New Bern; sisters, Shirley Todd, Suzie Billings, Wanda Jones, Faye McKowan, all of New Bern, and Brenda Mixon of Walterboro, SC; 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00pm on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Lakeside Chapel Greenleaf Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Cotten Funeral Home.
