Eva Dagmarie Carawan, age 49, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 after a long and heroic battle with diabetes and kidney disease. "Evie" as she was known by family and friends, was a polymer clay and mixed media artist and sculptor who loved her various nieces and nephews, related or not.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanislaw Goralik and is lovingly survived by her husband of 18 years, Jim Carawan; her mother, Lidia Goralik; stepdaughter, Amber Atkinson (Mike); and sister, Grace Chiodo (Chris).
A celebration of Evie's life will be 2 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in her name to the Craven Arts Council, 317 Middle Street, New Bern, NC 28560 or to the charity of your choice.
