Evan is gentle, stubborn, and thoughtful. He’s a subtle comedian—the kind you have to really pay attention to in order to catch the punchline.
He can be hard to please, but he’s easy to love. That’s what makes it all the more rewarding to see him laugh or smile at something you say or do.
Evan doesn’t find gratification in owning or accumulating things. So, when he chooses to keep something, it’s because it holds deep value for him.
One of those treasures is his family. Evan always made it a point to show up for his loved ones—whether the circle was big or small. He cherished his mom, dad, sister, brother, extended family, and chosen family.
He had a big heart for animals. Over the years, he cared for many beloved pets and was endlessly fascinated by the lizards, toads, frogs, turtles, possums, baby birds, and other backyard creatures that briefly became part of the family.
From a young age, Evan had a passion for gaming, programming, and coding. Almost entirely self-taught, he carved out a career in IT consulting that let him work on his own terms.
Though Evan isn’t here, he’ll never truly be gone. We like to believe he’s just on the other side—still close enough to hear the laughter from the next room.
A memorial service for Evan will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends following the service in the Session House until 2:00pm
