Evelyn spent her career as a nurse, a profession that was especially fitting for someone with such a natural heart for caring for others. Her kindness, patience, and concern for those around her extended far beyond her work.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she deeply loved her church family. She also treasured the friendships she formed throughout the years and valued the time spent in fellowship with those she cared about.
Above all, Evelyn loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and she cherished the memories and special moments she shared with her grandchildren.
Evelyn had many interests that brought happiness to her life. She loved to read and could often be found enjoying a good book. She also had a talent for refinishing furniture and giving old pieces new life. She enjoyed dog sitting, thrift-store shopping, and searching for unique treasures. These simple pleasures reflected her creativity, patience, and appreciation for the beauty found in everyday things.
She is survived by her children, Glenn Edward Wrisley, Jennifer Lynn Isenhart and husband John, and Alan Carl Wrisley and wife Toni; her siblings, Melvin Arthur, Wallace Arthur, Larry Arthur, and Kay Bullard; her grandchildren, Elayna Arthur, Megan Wrisley, Clayton Wrisley, John Cornelius, Cate Cornelius and Jane Cornelius; and her nieces and nephews, Kim Arthur, Lisa Mayo, Laurie Alejo, Jamie Arthur, and Sherry Arthur.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Wrisley; her brother, Jimmy Arthur; and daughter-in-law, Caroline Wrisley.
A funeral service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at West New Bern Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A private burial will be held at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
Evelyn will be remembered for her devotion to her faith and family, and the warmth she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
