Faith Elizabeth Whitehurst

Faith Elizabeth Whitehurst, age 35, of New Bern, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Faith enjoyed fishing and loved animals of all kinds, especially horses. She liked to sing, listen to music, and make crafts. Faith will be remembered for her perpetual smile and for how she inspired everyone she knew. She brightened any room she entered with her optimism and determination to overcome the obstacles that life brought her way. She handled every challenge with dignity, grace, and personified her name, "Faith."

Faith was preceded in death by her mother, Joy Frazier Whitehurst; as well as her grandparents, Henry and Laura Whitehurst.

Faith leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, including her father, Ervin Whitehurst of the home; brothers, Erik Whitehurst of Kentucky and Jason Whitehurst (Maegan) of Bennett, NC; sister, Melissa Beaman (Tyler) of New Bern, NC; grandmother, Faye Rotz of Mesic, NC; nieces, Mikayla Whitehurst, Alexa Whitehurst, Mia Whitehurst, and Natalie Beaman; nephews, Benjamin Whitehurst and Aaron Beaman; and a number of aunts and uncles who loved her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home.

A celebration of Faith's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Lakeside Chapel of Greenleaf Memorial Park with her brother, Rev. Dr. Jason Whitehurst and Rev. Rex Bennett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Faith's memory to benefit the Cancer Center at CarolinaEast Medical Center by sending them to the CarolinaEast Foundation, 2007B Neuse Blvd., New Bern, NC 28560.
