Forrest “Skip” McQueen Hudson III of New Bern passed away at the age of 82 on Monday, September 30, 2024. He was a graduate of Washington High School and NC State University and was the Founder and President of Hudson Manufacturing, Inc.

Outside of running a successful business, Skip was a licensed helicopter pilot, a master woodworker, a gourmet cook, a boatsman, an avid reader, a poet, and, most importantly, a role model to his four daughters and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife and childhood sweetheart, Cecelia Chrismon, and his grandson, Davis Hudson Cook. He is survived by his daughters, Martha Cook (Mike), Susan Senay (Steve), Catherine Clark (Lloyd), and Jane Caldwell.

The loves of his life were his grandchildren: Will Cook (Cate), Davis Cook, Jake Shiptenko, Ben Shiptenko, Braxton Clark, Chrismon Clark, Hudson Clark, Annie Caldwell, and Cecelia Caldwell.

His sisters and brothers include Betty Schmitt, Mary Louise Hudson, Danny Mason, Cathy Cahill (deceased), Karen Rankin, Joanie Prentice, and Mark Hudson.

A private burial will be held in remembrance at his request.

Cotten Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and friends of Forrest Hudson III.
