Born to the late William and Montrey Pope, Goldie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Colonel Howard E. Monroe Ret.
Goldie was a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas and a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Universal City, Texas. Throughout her career, she touched many lives as a teacher before continuing her service as a Human Resources Administrator for the City of Austin, Texas.
As a dedicated military wife, Goldie cherished the opportunities to travel the world alongside her husband, embracing new experiences and building lasting friendships wherever they went.
She is survived by her loving nieces, Dalene Combs, Karen Coffman, and Nicole Monroe; and cousins, Chuck and Jane Weir.
Goldie will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
