Gregor Basil Mitchell

Greg graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1950 in Longview, WA, and later received an A.S. in Chemistry from the Lower Columbia Junior College. In 1956, he married Donna Hewitt and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in 2011.

Greg and Donna raised their family in Washington State and North Carolina. In 1969, they moved from Longview, WA to New Bern, NC where Greg transferred to work at the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill. In 1977, they moved to Everett, WA where Greg eventually retired and filled his days enjoying his family and golfing with friends. Greg returned to New Bern, NC in 2016 to be closer to his children.

Greg was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mitchell. He is survived by his son, Patrick Mitchell; daughter Dana (Tony Holt) Mitchell; grandson, Joshua (Kallie Phillips) Mitchell; and great-granddaughter Lorelai Mitchell. He leaves behind his sister; nieces and nephews; close friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be limited to his immediate family.
