Harold Eugene LaBelle, 80, of New Bern, passed away on June 3, 2019. Harold was a kind, generous, funny and loving man. He served in the Navy and was President of Saphikon, Inc. in Milford, New Hampshire. He was the inventor of the EFG Process for crystal growth and his contributions to the crystal growth field were significant.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith LaBelle; eight children, BarbaraJean LaBelle, Jerold LaBelle, Deadra Bahl (Leon), Chris LaBelle (Suzette), Michael LaBelle (Sherry Cooley), Heather Melton (David), Jason Leaor (Michelle), and Timothy Leaor; one brother, Richard LaBelle; two sisters, Carol Ann Merola and Janice LaBelle; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Port City Community Church in New Bern. Following the service, family and friends will gather for a luncheon at the church.
Flowers are welcomed and may be delivered to Port City Church or memorials may be made in Harold's name to the Wounded Warriors or the Special Olympics.
