Harry Grant Johnstin Jr.

Harry Grant Johnstin Jr., formerly of New Bern, NC, died July 1, 2021 at The SECU Hospice House of Brunswick-Lower Cape Fear LifeCenter. Harry was born July 19, 1930 in Latrobe, PA, the son of the late Harry G. and Sarah H (Wheaton) Johnstin. Harry was proceeded in death by his wife Nancy Erny Johnstin, his wife of 64 years, and his sister Barbara J. Steiner. Harry is survived by his sons Thomas (Michelle), Christopher (Linda), and Kenneth; daughter Margery (Kai) and nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Harry instilled in all of his children an extra ordinary work ethic and deep commitment to family. In addition, Harry shared his love of sailing and the ocean with his family and friends. Many of the family’s most precious moments were aboard the beloved “NANMAR II” sloop on the Great Lakes and the Carolina Waters. Harry also served in the Naval Reserves.

The funeral will be held at Saint Vincent Basilica, Latrobe, PA., on August 2, 2021 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the cemetery at Saint. Vincent.
