Helen Gibbs Williams, age 98, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Known by her family as “Ma-Ma,” she was known for her witty humor. She loved quilting and sewing. She was one of the 25 original women that started Twin Rivers Quilters Guild and the last one to pass on. She enjoyed spending time at her river home and volunteering for various groups at her church. She had been a member of Broad Street Christian Church since 1954. She worked for Sears for 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Onslow Williams Sr., her sons, Wilbur Ray Eubanks and Harvey Onslow Williams Jr., her parents, and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Eubanks Stephenson (Van) of New Bern, 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Jane Thompson and Gail Williams.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Cotten Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest to Greenleaf Memorial Park.
