Howard Allen Bradford

Howard was born August 15,1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Everett Gracen Bradford and Gertrude Sargeant Bradford. He served in the US Marine Corp for 4 years during the Korean War and was in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.

Howard graduated from Iowa State University in 1956 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired from Bell Telephone Systems after 32 years of service.

Howard loved the Lord and was a member of Two Rivers Christian Church. His family was very important to him and he was an excellent husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved woodworking, photography, traveling, and biking. Howard and Lee took many bike trips around the nation over the years. They also traveled to Europe several times. Howard volunteered with church builders here and with mission trips abroad. In recent years he had done volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity and with the Epic Center.

Howard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Valee Joan Bradford, his daughter Debbie Allen and her husband Henry, daughter Peggy Smith, son Ted Bradford, and son-in-law Shawn Turk and his wife Jackie. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Jones and his brother Steve Bradford and wife Marleis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Rebecca Turk and his son-in-law Benny Smith. He is also survived by grandchildren Don Allen, Barbie Busch, Cindy Gillespie (Jason), Katie Hunsucker (Lennie), Sarah Villanueva (Brandon), Becky Morgan (Joe), Jeremy Turk, Chris Smith (Ashley), Matt Bratton ( Veronica), Andy Smith (Erin), Carey Rodvold (Shaun), Jon Bratton, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Thursday December 27th, 2018 at 6 PM at Two Rivers Christian Church 3321 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560. Burial for Howard will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27853 with U.S.Marine Corp. Honors.
