He was retired from the National Guard and presently was a bus mechanic with the Craven County School System. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and repairing International 140 tractors.
Hugh is survived by his mother, Della Tilghman of Cove City; two daughters: Elisha Jolly Bialowas and husband, Steve and son, Tanner of Grifton and Amanda Lane Jolly Murphy and husband, Donnie and their children, Leven, Riley and Logan of Pollocksville; brother, Robert Jolly of Maysville; three sisters: Polly Henderson of Kinston, Faye Smith of Cove City and Betty Jolly of Cove City and wife, Suzanne Dawson Jolly and his step-children, Randy White and Crystal Weatherington and husband, Stewart and their daughter, Holly Ann.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at Cotten Funeral Home on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Daugherty Family Cemetery in Cove City.
