

James Orville McGovern left to be with our Lord, June 23, 2015.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1932 in Bronx, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Horger McGovern and James Patrick McGovern. His only son, James Robert McGovern, preceded him in death on June 5, 2013.
James Orville McGovern was a Veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Korean War with the 1st Calvary 8th Division, earning the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars.
After his military service, James worked for RCA/Lockheed Martin. He was also a self-employed businessman, operating a service station, a military surplus store, and a heating and air conditioning business. James also ran the Delran Jr. Marksman Club and Range for many years in Delran, as an instructor, and was treasurer of New Bern, NC local DAV Chapter.
James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann McGovern of Exchange, W. Va.; Kathleen Hardiman (Ron) of Newport, N.C.; and Diane Hutchinson (Bob) of King George, Va.; and his grandchildren, Edward James Foulks (Danielle) of New Bern, N.C., and Rebecca Hutchinson Hundley (Tim); and a great grandson, Robert Alan James Hundley, all of King George, Va.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at the Cherry Point Chapel in Havelock, N.C. Light refreshments immediately following.
