I had no idea Jjm had passed until I came across this notice today!  I'm absolutely heartbroken.  While working in IS at the Hospital from 2007-2011,  I had the pleasure of working across the hall from Jim.  He wasn't just one of the best employees, but one of the most amazing people I've ever been blessed to call my friend.

It has been a pleasure knowing you for the past 30 years. There are lots of stories to tell and funny times had by all that met you. I will cherish those memories and will keep your family in my prayers as they move forward. One final thought for Jim....

        As we all know  - Jim was a great guy and a friend to all at Carolina East..! When you needed a friend or  help , Jim was ready to donate  his time and efforts to the job.....As Master of Ceremony   at the American Heart Association  fund raiser ( Womanless Beauty Pageant) a few years back, he did an awesome  job. ...Only Jim could have pulled this off - on stage for hours at a time ...to help raise money for the AHA. .... .He added the fun and  dedication to the job that will help future generations ...

Jim was one of the first people I met when I started at Carolina East.  What an intelligent, funny, and kind man I was honored to call my friend. 
Recently our paths crossed at a team meeting and I had the opportunity to talk with Jim for awhile. We talked about our families and what was new with one another.  As always, Jim was cracking jokes and we laughed a lot, as usual. I am so grateful for that moment.  Robin and Family, you are all in my prayers. May God comfort you and surround you all with his loving arms. God Bless.

I have been sitting here for five days now trying to process that I will never see my brother in law again.  Never hear his laugh and stories on Christmas Eve.  Never see him walk in and hear “Hey Bud” with a Mountain Dew in his hand.  I have watched our family cry, laugh, smile sometimes all in the same moment as we remember something he did or said that brought so much joy to our lives, or just seeing something in a store that brings a memory to life.  Jim you left us with thousand of memories and I will cherish each one.  Your light burned bright for those you loved and went out too soon.  We will miss you always.

I’ve known Jim for about 8 years from CarolinaEast. He was one of my good work friends and I’d always look forward to when he stopped by my office to visit. I enjoyed hearing all his stories from his radio days. He always made me laugh, sometimes to the point of crying. Jim was such an amazing guy and he will be missed. CarolinaEast will never be the same. My thoughts and prayers to his family.

Not sure what happened to the pictures from previous post, but here are some memories of our time together playing destiny

I was just a brash 17 year old when I first met Jim. I happened to be a friend of his sisters Lisa and Carolina. He helped me get hired as a temporary here at the hospital installing the AS400 cabling. He helped me get hired as a full time hospital employee in the Biomedical department. Hard to believe that was over 30 years ago. There are many people that cross your paths in life, most you know only fleetingly, but some, if you are lucky, are the ones who are lifetime friends.  I was lucky enough to call Jim one of them.  I can't believe your gone my friend. I pray that your family and friends can find some peace in their time of mourning. You may be gone but you will not be forgotten.  I miss my friend...

I introduced Jim to Destiny right after it came out. Those who played from the beginning will get this. He started playing the week Xur sold Gjallarhorn for the first time. We got to talk about life, family, and the future while playing with each other for over 1000 hours. We were superheroes that would go and save the day and as he would always say, "if you die, you come right back" How I wish to hear "Guardian Down" and to be able to revive you one last time.....

Jim was such a good coworker and fellow laborer at work.  I’ve known him for 17 years and he always made me laugh, often when I needed a laugh the most.  He also was a great listener and especially a good advisor to me on a personal level on many occasions.  He will definitely be missed in the office and certainly around the hospital, as well.  Praying for comfort and peace for Robin and the rest of the family during this difficult time.

He was a wonderful man! Always helping others!

Where to begin, I met Jim when I was just a 17 year old kid who happened to be a friend of his sister’s Lisa and Carolina. He helped me get hired as a temporary at the hospital and get me hired full time in the Biomedical department, hard to believe that was over 30 years ago. Many people come and go throughout your life, some you spend time with and they are forgotten as the years go by, a few if you are lucky make a long lasting impact on your life and will never be forgotten. Jim was one of those rare few that I can say I had the honor to cross paths with in this life. He will not be forgotten by anyone who really knew him. I feel devastated that I didn’t get to see him or say goodbye to one of the true friends I have in this world. I hope and pray that Robin and the girls can have some peace at this difficult time.

We got to experience many high’s and low’s playing that game. We talked about family and friends and future plans while getting to spend some time as super heroes that never die and as he used to always say “always come right back”. There are only a few people in your life who always leave you feeling better but Jim was certainly one. What a great guy. Always a funny story to share and more often than not made me laugh until I was crying. I worked with Jim for over 28 years at the hospital and am only one of many that will miss him more than he could ever have imagined. Rest easy my friend and thanks so much for the smiles and laughter.

The last time I saw Jim I thanked him for keeping my daughter happy and safe.  It turned out to be an understatement.  He kept the WHOLE FAMILY happy and safe.
His love and devotion for my daughter was inspiring, and his caring and dedication for the whole family was of a standard seldom seen.
He is irreplaceable, but his gift to us are the memories of a giant of a man whose love and warmth were as great as his stature.
It was a blessing to know you, Jim,  a blessing for us all.

Jim was an awesome guy one of the most genuinely funny and positive people I’ve ever encountered I never got to meet Jim in person but we been buddy’s on Xbox for over 10 years and was the funnest person to be on the game with I send my deepest condolences to Jim’s family who he always talked about im absolutely heartbroken of the news and each time I turn on Destiny I’ll think about you bud  Guardians live forever Rest in peace the Real Batman

Jim was such a nice man. I worked at CarolinaEast 30 years on and off. He was easy to talk to and just such a great sense of humor. I know he will be sadly missed. Anytime I see a Batman signal I always think of Jim. I am praying for Robin and his girls❤️
