

James "Jim" Millard, Sr., 77, of Havelock, passed away on Monday, October 2nd, 2017. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former manager for the Sioux City transit system, followed by several years as an over the road truck driver for Group Promotions in Michigan and Heyl Trucking in Iowa. Prior to his retirement, he served as the manager of May Exterminating in Havelock for nineteen years. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, building hot rods, and racing stock cars.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Millard; three sons, James "Jimmy" Millard, Jr. (Sharon), Timothy "Tim" Millard (Mary), and Terry Millard (Gina); one sister, Joan Schovanec (Ray); nine grandchildren, Josh, Jaime, Kori, Aaron, Rachael, Jennifer, Tracy, Shannon, and Kurtis; and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alma Millard; sister, Estelle Lauritsen; and brother, Chuck Millard.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, October 6th at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa.
