Janie McDaniel White

Janie McDaniel White, 81, of Perfection (Cove City) went onto her heavenly home on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Janie was born on January 30, 1939 in Craven County, North Carolina to the late Durant Theodore (DT) and Zella McDaniel.

Janie graduated from Jasper High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart in 1958. In 1959 she began a 35 year career at Dupont as a Lab Technician. She enjoyed gardening and spent a lot of time traveling. After retirement she enjoyed spending time with friends and especially talking on the phone. She also spent time volunteering at the local elementary school. She was an active member of Asbury UMC. Her favorite way to spend her time was with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thomas White Sr., siblings, Margaret Wood, Bill McDaniel, Horace Taylor and Hyman Franklin McDaniel.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond Thomas White Jr. and wife Bonnie and Danny White and wife Wendy, one sister, Myrtle Register and husband Mike, three grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Cameron White and Darby White, one great-grandchild, Ellie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Home Instead and Brookdale Assisted Living for their care.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Asbury Church building fund.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church.
