She was a member of Cherry Point Baptist Church and The order of the Eastern Star. Jean is predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Collins; and a brother, Leonard Herman Collins, Jr.
Surviving are sons, Michael Schoppaul of Stafford , VA. and Richard Schoppaul of Chocowinity; daughter, Deborah Schoppaul of Dublin, OH.; Sister, Frances Diffee of Havelock; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00am Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
