Jesse Derek Gaskins, 27, of Pollocksville, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Wednesday, July 13, 2016. A lovable, kind-hearted, and forgiving person, Jesse loved the Lord and attending church at Broken Spoke Christian Church. His favorite Bible verse was the 23rd Psalm. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh.
He is survived by his loving mother, Leslie Gaskins Ricks and her husband, James of Pollocksville. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Shawn Jacob Gaskins and Kendall Justice Gaskins.
Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19th at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by a processional to New Bern Memorial Cemetery where there will be a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor D.J. West officiating.
