John Michael Buckner

He loved fishing, travel and truck driving.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Johnston, one brother, Terry Buckner, his ex-wife, Kathleen Hinckley Buckner and his step-father, Tommy Johnston.

John is survived by his father, Johnny Buckner and wife Hilda of New Bern; two daughters, Angela Buckner and Tonya Thomas both of New Bern; two sons, Michael Buckner and wife Ann of New Bern ; Jason Perry and wife, Jennifer of Swansboro; one brother, Dean Buckner of New Bern; two sisters: Linda Collins and husband Bill of Wilmington and Debbie Ireland and husband Harry of Stonewall; and five grandchildren: Jonathon Thomas, Michael Rand, Zoe Thomas, Brody Buckner, and Richard Buckner.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lee Kirkman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the funeral home and other times at 116 Drury Lane, New Bern, NC.
