Johnnie Daniel Hales

He graduated from Middlesex High School in 1960. He graduated from Atlantic Christian College, now Barton College, with a BS in Business Administration and Economics in 1964. His love for numbers and accounting led him to work for the North Carolina State Board of Education, Vanity Fair Corporation and Croscill, Inc. as an auditor, controller and Vice President of Administration. He served in the Army Reserves. His post-retirement job was a driver for Enterprise Rental Cars.

Johnnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diann Johnson Hales and son, Jeffrey Hales, spouse Brenda, daughter Stephanie Brinson, spouse Asher and granddaughters Mary Grace and Olivia, daughter Jennifer Azenon, spouse Rick and granddaughter Sophia and grandson Henry.

Johnnie was open minded, dependable and hardworking. His calm, selfless and loving nature will be missed.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
