Joseph Patrick McCarthy, 56, of Havelock, died March 4, 2013 at home.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy for 24 years. Upon retirement, Joe worked for a non-profit organization mentoring at - risk youth.
He is survived by his wife, Mary McCarthy, three sons, Joseph P. McCarthy, Jr. of Havelock; David M. McCarthy of Greenville; Thomas H. McCarthy of Havelock; one brother, James F. McCarthy of Cincinnati, OH; and five grandchildren, Amelia, Abigail, Layla, Elly, and Reagan.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 8, 2013 at the church. Entombment with military honors will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens.
