

Joey was born August 18, 1952 in New Bern and graduated from New Bern High School in 1971 and served in the US Army in Germany. He then returned home and was employed with Naval Aviation Depot at Cherry Point for over 30 years.
In addition to his parents, Charles Brantley and Lenora Lamm, Joey was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ginger Rives Pittman; brother, Charles (CB); sister-in-law, Helen; and sister, Brenda.
He is survived by his brother, Timothy Pittman and his wife, Maryann; uncle, AB Lamm; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and close friends.
Joey was an easy going man who loved the outdoors. He loved sharing a joke with his fishing and hunting buddies. Joey was a member of the Beaver Dam Hunting Club for many years and every year he and his fishing buddies would go to Ocracoke Island the week before Mother's Day.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home. A Celebration of Joey's Life will begin at 2:00 PM. Following the service, Joey will be laid to rest beside his wife, Ginger, at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
